SUN Local 106
SUN Local 106 Executives
A group of SUN members (registered nurses) who join together become a local. For the most part, a local is facility- or agency based. Local members elect a local executive. The local executive is responsible for communicating with members, both to inform members of local and provincial union activities, and to act on issues and concerns expressed by the members. The local executive meet with your employer to resolve contract violations, nursing practice issues and other local issues.

Catherine May Araos

Treasurer
Hi, I'm Catherine, my pronouns are she/her. I'm your treasurer with SUN local 106.
I fell in love with union activism when I first attended the Prairie School for Union Women in Waskesiu. I met the most interesting and inspiring women there from all areas of the labor force of Saskatchewan. Since then, I have been a strong advocate for worker's rights and inclusion in the workplace. It has been a great honor serving our members at local 106 and I hope to continue this work moving forward.
I started my nursing career at RGH in 2011. I love learning and trying out different experiences to widen my understanding of the art of caring through nursing. The units I have worked include L&B, Home dialysis -PD Educator, Renal transplant, Endoscopy, Women's Health center and now nurse clinician for Kidney Health Clinic. It bring me joy to teach the new generation of nurses what it means to be a Registered Nurse with all its high & lows.
